Tahiti and Her Islands are an invitation to love! Bora Bora, & Moorea… are dream destinations for your romantic getaway in French Polynesia. From turquoise lagoons to lush mountains, everything is here to make your honeymoon magical.

Bora Bora is the ultimate destination for love and romance. Whether you’ve been dreaming of an overwater bungalow or had your heart set on a private Bora Bora Cruise, Travels By Monica is here to help you plan the perfect romantic honeymoon.

Bora Bora is a small South Pacific island northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia. Surrounded by sand-fringed motus (islets) and a turquoise lagoon protected by a coral reef, it’s known for its scuba diving. It’s also a popular luxury resort destination where some guest bungalows are perched over the water on stilts. At the island’s center rises Mt. Otemanu, a 727m dormant volcano.

Moorea – A few minutes from the island of Tahiti by plane, and only thirty minutes by high-speed catamaran, Moorea soars magically out of the ocean in an explosion of green velvet – what you would imagine a South Seas island to be.

A wide, shallow lagoon surrounds the island’s vertical mountains where poetic threads of waterfalls tumble down fern-softened cliffs. Peaceful meadows flanked by pinnacles of green will fill your senses and renew your belief in the majesty of nature. Pastel-painted houses surrounded by gardens of hibiscus and birds of paradise, circle the island in a fantasy of happy, yet simple villages.

Honeymoon Planning Tips

A couple of tips

  1. Plan early,  Brides and grooms often leave honeymoon planning to the last minute. A destination may be in mind, but leaving it to the very end will only make your trip more expensive and also compromise on your experience. Start your honeymoon planning as early as you start your wedding planning. If it’s within your budget, this is a good time to contact a Travels By Monica.  this can help you spread out the costs over a few months, which will reduce the financial and scheduling stress.
  2.  Pick a location that you both want to go.  Do you want to go to an all-inclusive resort, or do you want to take a cruise or an adventure trip?  What kind of scenery do you want, are you hoping for some place tropical? Mountainous? Historic? These factors will help you narrow down the location itself.
  3. Set a budget –  Be realistic about what you want to spend and what experiences you are looking to share, and allow ample funds for those experiences. A great solution is to set up a honeymoon registry in advance that allows guests to help with some of your travel costs or enhance your trip with special services and experiences. Travels By Monica offers a honeymoon registry.
  4. Here’s a tip you really should live by. When you’re on your honeymoon, make sure that your itinerary is easy, relaxing and flexible.

How To Pick Your Perfect Cruise: There are 160+ ships, 24+ cruise lines, 7,500+ itineraries . You can cruise just about any where you want for almost any length of time.  Here’s a couple of guidelines to help you decide which cruise works best for you.

Where do you want  to Cruise to: Decide on destinations and itinerary first, ship second. Cruise lines are always changing their itineraries and adding new ones.

Caribbean cruises offer Eastern, Western, Southern and Exotic South Caribbean itineraries. Hawaii cruises see up to 5-islands, Alaskan cruises, tend to follow two routes: Inside Passage itineraries round-trip fr/Seattle or Vancouver OR Gulf of Alaska itineraries, north to south, south to north. Head for the high seas, the excitement of a cruise! Choose from exotic destinations, explore fascinating ports, relax in luxurious accommodations, let loose with fun-filled activities on board your cruise vacation. Add a destination wedding or honeymoon!

Which Cruise line should you cruise? Each cruise line has a personality.  From fun & feisty to formal and everything in between.  Some cruise ship are small and quaint other are as large as resorts with waterslide parks, bowling alleys, zip lining and broadway show.   Travels By Monica can help you decide which one fits you.

When is the best time to go, price wise.  Shoulder seasons save money (varies with destinations). Cruises are popular with wedding couples, families, reunions and couples. Shoulder season translates into less cruisers, better cruise deals.
